Medak is one of the 31 districts in Telangana. The
district's original was Siddapuram and later changed to Gulshanabad means “City
of Gardens” and later named as Methukuseema called ad Medak. Medak district was
a part of Hyderabad which was seperated as a district in October 2016

Medak district news on Geography
The boundaries of Medak are Warangal and Nalgonda
districts to East, Karnataka state to West, Nizamabad district to North and
Hyderabad district to South. According to 2011 census, the district consists of
767,428 population and occupies an area about 2,740.89 sq.km. The district is a
part of Red corridor. Kadaleru, Valdhi, Manjeera and Gudleruvagu are the rivers
that flows through the district.
Divisions
There are Three revenue divisions in Medak namely
Narsapur, Medak and Tupran. Each divison is divided into Mandals. There are 16
mandals in the district. Bharathi Hollikeri is the collector to the district.
Medak municipality was formed in 1953.
Economy
Ordnance Factory Medak is the largest employer to
Ordanance Factories Board where manufactures the products for Indian Armed Forces.
It contributes the largest economy to the district. The industries like BHEL,
Sanitary Wares at Kollur, ICRISAT, Vishaka Asbestos, Novapan India ltd are
located in the district. Siddipet Bathic paintings, Silver and Woodenwares are
famous in the district. The district is also listed in one of the 250 most backward
districts in the country. So the district receives funds from BRGF.
Tourism
Pocharam Wildlife Sanctuary, Medak Cathedral is the
single largest Diocese in Asia, Kuchadri Venkateshwara swamy temple, Kondapur
Archeological Museum, Manjira Wildlife sanctuary, Medak Fort etc are the most
