Mancherial district news on Geography

The boundaries of Mancherial are Gadchiroli district to East, Nirmal district to West, Komaram Bheem district to North, Peddapalli district to South, Bhupalpalle district to South-east, Adilabad district to North-west and Jagtial district to South-west. According to 2011 census, the district consists of 807,037 population and occupies an area about 4,056.36 sq.km. The River Godavari flows through the district on the north side.

Divisions

There are Two revenue divisions in Mancherial namely Mancherial and Bellampally. Each divison is divided into Mandals. There are 18 mandals in the district. R.V.Karnan is the collector to the district. Mancherial municipality was formed in 1956.

Economy

The district is a commercial hub of catering the coal for Singareni colleries and also consists of rich amounts of cement minerals in Cement plant called Mancherial Cement Company. These cement minerals and coal mines contribute its economy to District.
