Jangaon District News on Geography
The boundaries of Jangaon are Warangal district to
East, Yadadri district to West, Siddipet district to North, Suryapet district
to South, Mahabubabad district to South-east and Warangal district to North
east. According to 2011 census, the district consists of 582,457 population and
occupies an area about 2,187.50 sq.km.
Divisions
There are Two Revenue divisions in Jangaon namely
Jangaon and Ghanpur. Each divison is divided into Mandals. There are 13 mandals
in the district. A.Sri Devasena is the collector to the district. Jangaon
Municipality was formed in 1953.
Economy
Nawabpet cattle is the 2nd biggest market in
Telangana. Agriculture is also major economy in the district. Handlooms, Retail
and Wholesale business, Farming related business, Weaving etc are also major
